Waggin' Tails Doggy Daycare and Hotel Open for Business

As a pet owner, Holly Miller often had a difficult time finding accommodations for her pets when she needed to travel for the day, weekends or on vacations. Her mission became to provide a safe environment for pet owners to leave their pets without feeling guilty for leaving them. Waggin' Tails has three employees and also employs a groomer. "We will be hiring one to two more groomers this year," said Miller. "Our customer base increases daily and most of our clients come back each week."
Waggin' Tails provides spacious suites for a pets overnight stay. Daycare and hotel guests have access to four large play areas, activity gyms, play tunnels and a doggy pool. To top it off, guests get to play with other dogs all day long. Socialization with group play benefits health and development; eliminates boredom; helps with accidents, excess energy and compulsive behaviors.
"Jim Lees was great to work with and provided good support during the starting process of our business," said Miller. "Working with the South Central Dakota Regional Council allowed us to provide a top quality facility and a safe and fun atmosphere for our clients. Miller's advice for other entrepreneurs; "Do your research, have a good plan, and prepare to work hard!"
